Calculation on your device

The calculator processes the amount, percentage, calculation mode and currency locally in your browser. Its code does not send these inputs to a server or store them in cookies, Local Storage or Session Storage. There are no user accounts, contact forms or calculation databases. Your browser may restore form values using its own features.

Only when you click are results copied to your clipboard, created as a CSV file or passed to the print dialog. Your device settings then apply. These outputs are not tax invoices.

Hosting

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

When you visit, Cloudflare processes IP addresses, technical device information and traffic data, among other data. Cloudflare processes certain data, particularly customer logs, on customers’ behalf and other data as a controller. Its privacy policy bases retention on purpose, data type, security risks and legal duties. No uniform deletion period for all hosting data is promised here. See the Cloudflare privacy policy.

The legal basis for necessary delivery and security processing initiated by the operator is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is providing a reliably accessible calculator protected against abuse.

Cloudflare’s Self-Serve terms incorporate its Data Processing Addendum. This also addresses international transfers, particularly through the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses, where applicable. Processing outside the EU, including in the United States, is possible.

Cookies, advertising and analytics

The calculation code uses no cookies, advertising networks or externally loaded fonts. Advertising is not enabled. Separate, optional web analytics is described below. Hosting security features are separate and may use cookies depending on the feature involved. Local calculation therefore does not mean that the entire hosting infrastructure necessarily operates without cookies. Cloudflare describes these features in its cookie documentation.

Optional usage and performance measurement

With your consent, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand page views and calculator performance and improve the website. The provider and recipient is Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. The analytics script is not loaded without consent. The calculator remains fully usable.

Measurements include page and referral information, browser, operating system, device type, country, and loading and response times. We do not pass amounts, tax rates, currency selections or calculation results to analytics or put them in URLs or element identifiers. As a precaution, the analytics script is not loaded on visits with URL parameters or referral information that cannot be safely classified.

According to Cloudflare, the beacon uses no cookies or browser storage but reads technical browser information and performance data. Cloudflare states that the IP address technically received during transmission is discarded at the nearest data center and is not stored in central RUM databases or logs. This statement concerns analytics, not every hosting log.

Cloudflare describes seven days of unsampled beacon data followed by reduced long-term storage. Reports cover the previous six months; this does not guarantee complete deletion after six months. See the Web Analytics FAQ and technical beacon documentation.

The basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where applicable, section 25(1) TDDDG. You can disable measurement for the future at any time through “Privacy settings”. This blocks new analytics connections and reloads the page. It cannot recall data already transmitted. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. The Cloudflare section explains international transfers.

Remembering your privacy choice

Separately from analytics, NettoKlar stores only your acceptance or rejection, its time and the choice version in your browser’s Local Storage under “nettoklar-analytics-choice”. No calculation inputs are saved. The choice is valid for up to 180 days; you are asked again on your next visit after it expires. Change it through Privacy settings or remove it by clearing this website’s browser data. If your browser blocks storage, the choice applies only to the current page.

This storage is used only to honour your privacy decision and avoid repeated prompts. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; necessary storage access is based on section 25(2)(2) TDDDG.

Contact by email

If you email us, your sender address, message and any attachments are processed to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is responding to enquiries. Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies to contract-related enquiries where its conditions are met.

The contact address uses Gmail. For users in the European Economic Area, Google identifies Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, as the responsible company. Google also processes data internationally. Its privacy policy provides details and information about transfer safeguards.

According to Google’s retention information, certain account content remains until deleted; security purposes, legal duties and technical deletion procedures can affect further retention. These provider rules are distinct from the operator’s retention of correspondence.

Enquiries are deleted once they have been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations or necessary legal defence require further retention.

Simply opening this website does not send an email to Google. Please do not send confidential tax documents or unnecessary sensitive information.

Your rights

Subject to legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw any consent with future effect. Contact the email address above to exercise your rights.

You may complain to a data-protection supervisory authority, particularly where you live or work or where an alleged infringement occurred. One point of contact is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Rhineland-Palatinate.
